Summary: Friendships are tested and conflict abounds in this 58-minute Thomas & Friends movie. When fire breaks out in an old farm shed on the Island of Sodor, it leads to the arrival of two new engines, Belle and Flynn the fire engine. Sir Topham Hatt asks Thomas to show the two new engines around the island, and Percy ends up feeling alone and left out because his best friend Thomas doesn't seem to have any time left to spend with him. The diesels befriend Percy in his time of need, but it turns out that the devious engines are only taking advantage of Percy's discontent in order to get something they really want--the Steamworks. Will the battle over the Steamworks come down to a show of force between the steamies and the diesels, or is there some other way for all the engines to get what they want and need? Day of the Diesels explores what true friendship looks like and reaffirms the notion that only by working together and taking care of one another can Thomas and his fellow steam engines achieve their goal of being really useful, happy engines. (Ages 2 to 6) --Tami Horiuchi.
