A closely observed portrait of Agnes, who has reached her early 40s without ever venturing far from home, family or the tight-knit immigrant community in which she was raised by her widowed father. That begins to change in a quietly dramatic fashion when Agnes receives a jigsaw puzzle as a birthday gift and experiences the heady thrill of not only doing something she enjoys, but being very, very good at it.

Puzzle, DVD 2018 Viewers expecting heart-stopping action in competitive jigsaw puzzling may be not quite get that, but will not disappointed by this excellent and touching drama about a mother with a grown family who opens up within herself and finds confidence and new direction in her life. Credible and first-class performances by the three main stars: Kelly Macdonald, Irrfan Khan, and David Denman. A fresh, original and very enjoyable film.
